The annual poll is conducted by Cincinnati-based Cintas Corporation. For years, we've lobbied for an impossible-to-understand rankings system, but the rankings are determined by online vote. Vistors take a photo tour of each facility before picking a favorite.
The Best Restroom will be announced in September. Last year's winner was a facility in the Shoji Tabuchi Theater in Branson, Mo.
Rankings, as of July 29:
1. Grand America Hotel, Salt Lake City: It has Italian marble, bronze and crystal chandeliers.
2. The Fountain on Locust, St. Louis: Hand-painted murals are a nice touch.
3. Bryant Park, New York: A full-time attendant, flowers and sceneted oils.
4. Embassy Theatre, Fort Wayne, Indiana: An Egyptian design and fireplaces.
5. The Muse Hotel, New York: Each restroom has a different theme.
