One man was killed and two other people were wounded - including a child - in a shooting in South Los Angeles on Sunday, police said.

De Edmond Brown, 37, was shot several times and died in the hallway of an apartment complex in the 600 block of Caliburn Drive, police said.

Police said Brown had been socializing with friends at the apartment complex when two men approached and began firing at the group.

Brown and his friends "ran in separate directions," the Los Angeles Police Department said in a press release. The gunmen tracked Brown to a hallway and shot him to death there, police said.

A nine-year-old boy and a 31-year-old man were also grazed by bullets, police said. The nine-year-old was treated and released at a local hospital. The man refused treatment for his wounds, police said.
