Cashier, Customer Held at Gunpoint During Buena Park, Cerritos Robberies

The robbers took lottery tickets and cash during at least three heists in 90 minutes

Robbers targeted at least three businesses in about 90 minutes late Tuesday during a series of heists at fuel stations and other locations in Buena Park and Cerritos.

Dalip Paul was working at a Chevron station at Orangethorpe Avenue and Beach Boulevard (map) when two men entered with a gun at about 11:30 p.m.

"He showed me the gun and said, 'Give me the money,'" said Paul. "So, I looked at the gun and just opened the drawer. They took the whole tray out and went outside."

Paul told NBC4 he did not get a good look the robbers because he was looking at the gun and they were wearing jackets with hoods over their faces.

The men are believed to be the same individuals behind a series of robberies. A Pizza Hut customer was robbed at gunpoint before police received a report of robberies at an Arco station.

The robbers took lottery tickets and cash.

"Whatever they can grab quick and get out the door," said Sgt. Tamara Banks, of the Buena Park Police Department.

Witnesses at the locations provided matching descriptions of the robbers and a vehicle involved in the heists -- a tan or gold Audi A8.

Officers plan to review surveillance video from the businesses.
