Burglar Found Living Inside Southern California Pharmacy, Police Say

Police suspected something was up when they noticed "remnants of drywall and ceiling tile" on the suspect's clothing

Police said they suspected they had more than just a burglar on their hands when they found "remnants of drywall and ceiling tile" on the clothing of a transient at a pharmacy in Simi Valley.

Tristan Odegard-Brown, 21, was arrested about 10 p.m. Thursday after officers determined that he had taken up residence on top of refrigeration units within a Pavilions store pharmacy at 2938 Tapo Canyon Road.

Officers responding to a call about a possible burglary said they they examined the store ceiling and discovered a large hole in the roof above the pharmacy department.

Police determined that the suspect used the hole as an entryway and had been living on top of the refrigeration units "for a short while."

Police said Oedgard-Brown was found under the influence of a controlled substance and in possession of drug paraphernalia.
