Safe Containing $2M of Jewelry, Property Stolen From Alanis Morissette's Brentwood Home

The theft comes after another financial blow to the singer

A safe containing about $2 million in jewelry and other items was stolen from the home of singer Alanis Morissette last week, police confirmed Tuesday.

No victims were home when the burglars entered the Brentwood home last Thursday at an unknown time, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. They took the safe and damaged property as well.

No one was in custody for the burglary Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The theft comes after another financial blow to Morissette, which made headlines last month.

Morissette's former business manager admitted to embezzling $4.8 million from the singer between May 2010 and January 2014. He used the money personally and falsely listed the cash withdrawals as "sundry/personal expenses" to cover up the crime.

Morissette had sued the manager last year in Los Angeles Superior Court, but the lawsuit was dismissed after GSO and Morissette announced a settlement.
