An 85-year-old man died Saturday after being run over by a bus in Oxnard, according to the Oxnard Police Department.
Raul German Vargas of Oxnard died when he fell into the path of an oncoming bus in the area of Saviers Road and Yucca Street.
The Gold Coast Transit bus was approaching a bus stop when Vargas, who was on the sidewalk, fell under its right side.
Emergency medical services responded to the scene, but Vargas died of his injuries.
Neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to be factors in the collision.
Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
