One person was killed Tuesday and another critically injured when a driver crashed into a bus stop in the west San Fernando Valley.

Aerial video showed two bus benches that were knocked over in the crash in front of a fuel station in the 8700 block of North Sepulveda Boulevard.
Surveillance video from the scene showed a man running out of the way as the car sped past him.
"It's awful, and I'm definitely going to have nightmares about it because I've never experienced this type of experience ever, being that close to death like that," said John, who only gave his first name.
John was waiting at the bus stop about 10:40 a.m. when an orange or red Camaro collided with a Nissan Sentra.
"The next thing I know, I heard a big boom," John said. "The sound...it was just crazy."

The Camaro spun out of control and hit a parked car before barreling into two bus benches and knocking them loose from their bolts.
Police said a man sitting on one of the benches was thrown several yards and was killed instantly. A woman in her mid-20s sitting on the other bench was critically injured, police said.
"I feel sorry for the families over what happened," John said. "That could have been me."
The driver of the Camaro was hospitalized, but his condition was not known.
Witnesses told NBC4 the car came out of a shopping center before the chain of crashes.
Lanes on Sepulveda Boulevard were closed for the crash investigation.
