Bears, Cats and Other Wildlife Caught on Camera

Southern California's backyard forests and mountains are seemingly quiet and uneventful compared to the bustling city and nightlife below the crest. But as summer has come to an end, our wild neighbors such as bears, foxes and mountain lions enjoy the last few weeks of warm weather before the temperature drops.

Hiker and nature enthusiast Robert Martinez, best known for his YouTube page Parliament of Owls, captures footage of different critters roaming the San Gabriel Mountains.

Just within distant view of the city, the native wildlife can be seen venturing the mountains that encompass Glendora. A bear could be seen guiding her cub through Angeles National Forest, rambunctious raccoons playfully fight in a ditch, spooked deer can be seen running away from an unknown threat, and a fox carries its prey into a safe area to eat.
