CHP Closes Lanes on 5 Freeway After Big Rig Overturns

Three lanes were closed on the 5 Freeway after a big rig truck over turned and spilled oil Thursday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported around 11:39 p.m. on the southbound 5 Freeway near Burbank Avenue, according to the CHP.

The big rig struck the center divider and overturned spilling oil, according to the CHP.

CHP officers closed the right three lanes and the on-ramp to Burbank Boulevard.

Caltrans crews were at the scene cleaning up the oil spill.

It was unclear if there were any injuries.

At 6:12 a.m. all lanes were reopened on the 5 Freeway.
