The California Highway Patrol has recommended that manslaughter charges be filed against a La Habra police officer who sped through a red light and hit a couple in a car while she was responding to an emergency.

Crash investigators presented their case against Officer Nancy Garcia to the Orange County district attorney's office
 Wednesday.

Officials said Garcia was speeding to assist another officer who was involved in a pursuit when her car smashed into a Chrysler PT Cruiser, killing Charles and Susanne Antuna.

The victims' daughter questioned whether Garcia's patrol car had its emergency lights and sirens on. Officials declined to say what the investigation found on that point, except that the car was traveling about 62 mph when it entered the intersection.
