Early Voting Locations Open on Election Eve

Early voting locations will be open on election eve Monday after a weekend of long lines at designated sites across Southern California.

The only location opened to the public in Los Angeles County Monday will be from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Registrar-Recorder's Office, at 12400 Imperial Highway in Norwalk. Early voting locations also will be open Monday in Orange, Riverside, Ventura and San Bernardino counties.

Long lines were again reported Sunday at the six polling places serving the 5.25 million voters registered in Los Angeles County, California's most populous county. At midday, the polling places were clogged with people who had already filled out their ballots, but were waiting in line to personally hand it in and collect their "I Voted" sticker.

That wasn't necessary -- LA County offers several drop-off locations for completed mail-in ballots.

"They can just got straight to the front, once their ballot is completed,' said Mike Sanchez, a media and communications representative with the Los Angeles Registrar-Record's Office. "It's an important message that we need to get out.'"
