A standoff between police and a man suspected of domestic violence ended Thursday afternoon after police realized the man was no longer in a Canoga Park home.

Officers were first called to the home in the 7300 block of Remmet Avenue (map) around 6 a.m., according to police. The suspect was uncooperative and then barricaded himself in the home, police said.

Police surrounded the residence and hours later, the SWAT team entered the home.

The man was not inside.

The perimeter was broken down around 1:30 p.m. Police said they are aware of the man's identity and an investigation is ongoing.
