Car Crashes Into House in Moreno Valley

A man was arrested after he allegedly crashed his car into a house in Moreno Valley and fled from the scene Wednesday night, authorities said.

The crash was reported around 10:47 p.m. in the 22800 block of Pahute Drive, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies said a white BMW sedan crashed through a wooden fence before plowing through the living room of the home and ended up entirely inside.

A woman inside the home said she had just entered her bedroom when she heard the loud crash, deputies said.

"I was asleep, it sounded like a bomb blowing up. Boom! And then it woke me up," neighbor Francisco Lumaque said.

Debris ended on the roof and the front yard. It appears the home may have shifted on its foundation.

A neighbor also said he heard the crash and walked out of his house, and saw a man dusting himself off before he fled on foot, deputies said.

Deputies found the driver a short distance away from the crash.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.

Neighbors said a home across the street has been struck by cars twice, which led to the construction of a concrete wall.
