Porsche Crashes Into Family's Bel Air Home, Triggering Gas Leak

A Porsche Cayenne crashed into a family's Bel Air house Wednesday morning, hitting a gas line and setting off a leak, police said.

The crash occurred around 4:50 a.m. in the 2500 block of Roscomare Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department, West Los Angeles Station.

Chris Conte, the owner of the house, said the Porsche jumped over the curb from his neighbor's driveway and into his home's main gas line.

His family smelled gas and immediately evacuated the home.

The crash shook the house, rattling open dresser drawers and scattering debris around Conte's daughter's room.

Conte said he and his family were not injured.

What led up to the crash was unknown. Witnesses said a driver was being taken away from the scene.

The neighborhood's gas was shut off.
