A suspected drunk driver crashed into a Thai restaurant in Lakewood early Tuesday.
The female driver was alleged to have been driving her Jeep eastbound on the westbound lanes of Carson Street, when she sideswiped a truck, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.
The impact sent her careering through the front of Nayada Thai Cuisine at 11401 Carson Street. The woman, who is in her 20s, was taken to hospital for treatment to leg injuries.
Restaurant owner Troy Beu could not believe what happened when he was informed by law enforcement.
"A lot of time, a lot of money (went into the restaurant). All of it," Beu said, "It hurts, but there is only so much you can do... I'm thinking about what I can do to go forward."
Public works and building and safety crews was called out to the scene, however there was no major structural damage to the property.
