Ex-Catholic School Teacher Arrested on Suspicion of Child Sexual Assault

The alleged sexual assault took place in Culver City between 2004 and 2007, police say

Police arrested a former Southern California Catholic school teacher on Wednesday on suspicion of felony child sexual assault.

Elizabeth Brewer, 39, taught at Notre Dame Academy, an all-girls Catholic high school in West Los Angeles, according to a release by the Culver City Police Department.

The alleged sexual assault took place in Culver City between 2004 and 2007, when the victim was a student of Brewer, police said.

The victim came forward about the alleged lewd acts a few months ago, and Brewer was arrested after a lengthy investigation before arresting Brewer, said Culver City Police Spokesman Jason Sims.

"Several felony charges have been filed against Mrs. Brewer with the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office," the release stated.

Brewer was out on bond and is due in court Dec. 29.
