Glendale Residents Rally Against Cell Tower

Residents in a northwest Glendale neighborhood are dialing up the heat on a cell tower construction plan.

The plan calls for construction of the T-Mobile tower at 510 1/4 Cumberland -- that's between two residences. Opponents set up a Web site -- getthecelloutofhere.com -- to rally against the plan, which the City Council put on hold.

A public hearing was scheduled for Wednesday night.

Residents said they were notified about the plan in November. They said flyers on their doors stated when and where "Public Construction" would begin, but did not provide details.

The biggest glaring error in the whole matter is that the telecommunications provider tried to as inocuously as possible erect the tower, by skirting typical protocol, not advising the neighborhood of ... • Happened too me Thursday, Jan 8 at 7:45 AM FLAG COMMENT There are ways to cover up the tower. They can put greenery around it to look like another tree. They have them through out Altadena, Ca area.
