A Chaffey College police officer was involved in a shooting on the college's campus Tuesday, but no injuries were reported, according to sheriff's officials.
San Bernardino County sheriff's officials said no one was hit in the shooting at the Rancho Cucamonga college around 6:45 a.m.
An investigation revealed a woman, Jullian Burdwell, was approached by a Chaffey College police officer while inside her parked car in the northwest parking lot on campus, according to Rancho Cucamonga police, who are conducting the investigation.
"During the contact circumstances led to an officer involved shooting," a statement from Rancho Cucamonga police said.
Burdwell then drove away and the officer pursued her car down several city streets before they both returned to the same parking lot.
When the officer saw that Burdwell appeared to be directing her car toward several Chaffey College employees who were walking, the officer used a "Legal Intervention Maneuver" to disable the car and "ultimately took her into custody," police noted in the statement.
Although she was not struck during the shooting, she was taken to a hospital as a precaution, police said.

What prompted the shooting was unknown.
"Burdwell was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, felony evasion and obstructing an officer," according to police. She was booked at West Valley Detention Center on $50,000 bail.
