The fire was reported in the 400 block of S. Sierra Way

San Bernardino Chemical Explosion

A fire broke out at a commercial building where 55-gallon drums containing unknown chemicals exploded, the San Bernardino Fire Department said.

The fire was reported in the 400 block of S. Sierra Way (map), the SBFD tweeted Wednesday afternoon.

Firefighters were able to knock down the blaze before 6 p.m.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
