3-Year-Old Child Fatally Struck by SUV in Driveway

A 3-year-old boy was killed when he was struck by an SUV in the driveway of the Tustin apartment complex he lived in, police said Tuesday.

The crash was reported at 6:11 p.m. Tuesday in the 15600 block of Pasadena Avenue, according to Tustin police Sgt. Andrew Birozy.

The boy was in the driveway with family members when he was struck by a Ford Explorer driven by a woman, Birozy said. The boy's family members immediately tried to help before officers arrived on scene and administered medical aid.

The boy was taken to a hospital, where he died, Birozy said.

The driver of the Explorer remained at the scene and was not hurt in the crash.

"There have been no arrests or citations, and the cause of this collision is still under investigation," Birozy said.
