Clayton Kershaw Gets Dodgers Back on Track With 6-2 Win in Colorado

Clayton Kershaw allowed just two runs over seven strong innings and the Dodgers bounced back with a 6-2 win over the Colorado Rockies on Friday night at Coors Field.

Leave it to Clayton Kershaw to get Los Angeles back on track.

Kershaw allowed just two runs over seven strong innings and the Dodgers bounced back with a 6-2 win over the Colorado Rockies on Friday night at Coors Field.

Fresh off the Dodgers 10-7 loss on Thursday night that snapped their season-high, five-game win-streak, Kershaw righted the ship as he surrendered just two runs on seven scattered hits with one walk and four strikeouts.

The Dodgers hung five runs on the Rockies in the second inning and never looked back as L.A. added a Cody Bellinger homer in the top of the eighth to move within 1.5 games of Colorado in the N.L. West.

Chase Utley got the scoring started in the second with a two-run triple, that was proceded by back-to-back doubles from Joc Pederson and Corey Seager a few batters later.

Bellinger crushed a curveball to right field for his team-leading seventh home run of the season. The 21-year-old rookie sensation is now tied for second place for home runs hit by rookies this season.

With the victory, Kershaw (6-2) became the all-time wins leader for a starting pitcher against the Rockies, passing Randy Johnson who had beaten Colorado 19 different times in his career.
