Clippers Waive Branden Dawson Ending Tumultuous Time in LA

The Los Angeles Clippers parted ways with forward Branden Dawson after a tumultuous rookie season with the team.

The Los Angeles Clippers ended a yearlong saga with rookie Branden Dawson when the team announced on Sunday that they had waived him.

The former Michigan State forward was arrested on March 13 on domestic violence charges, but charges were never brought against him.

Dawson became expendable after the Clippers acquired free agent forward Brandon Bass who had played with Clippers' head coach Doc Rivers previously in Boston.

Dawson was drafted in the second round of the 2015 NBA Draft by the New Orleans Pelicans and was traded to the Clippers in a draft-night trade.

Dawson averaged 0.8 points and 0.7 rebounds in six games with the Clippers last season.
