Magnitude-3.5 Quake Hits Near Coachella

A magnitude-3.5 earthquake struck Friday shortly before 9 a.m. near Coachella, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The epicenter was located about 7 miles east-northeast from Coachella, 10 miles east of Indio and about 27 miles east-southeast of Palm Springs.

The quake had a depth of 1.6 miles and struck at 8:58 a.m., according to the USGS.

No injuries have been reported.
