Crash Slows Morning Drive on SB 101 Freeway in Woodland Hills

Crews reopened the 101 Freeway in time for the height of the morning commute

Crews reopened the southbound 101 Freeway after a crash that involved several vehicles closed the road early Wednesday morning in Woodland Hills.

Traffic was blocked on the southbound 101 Freeway at Winnetka Avenue for about one hour after the 6 a.m. crash.

Aerial video showed a major backup on the southbound side of the freeway. Traffic also was slow on nearby Ventura Boulevard and other surface streets.

Three lanes were reopened at about 6:50 a.m.

Details regarding the crash were not immediately available. Paramedics responded to the location, but there were no reports of serious injuries.
