Power Restored After Glendale Outage

Crews finished restoring power for thousands of customers early Wednesday morning after a power outage struck Glendale and nearby communities Tuesday night.

Glendale Water and Power reported the outage to 5,500 customers about 9:20 p.m., citing equipment failure at its Montrose substation.

By 11:05 p.m., 900 customers were still without power. All customers were re-connected by 12:10 a.m. Wednesday.

Areas affected by the power outage were La Crescenta, Sparr Heights and parts of north Glendale, the utility said.

“Hang on N. Glendale and La Crescenta. We are working to restore power as fast as possible. We know of all areas affected,” GWP tweeted.
