A cruise liner with 22 passengers who were robbed at gunpoint in Mexico Thursday arrived in Long Beach today.
The 22 unlucky passengers were on a jungle excursion near Puerto Vallarta Thursday when a gunman relieved them of their money, watches, cameras and other valuables.
No one was hurt.
On the dock in Long Beach, passenger Kate Berry-Shoefsengers, told KCAL9 that the tourists were on a trail ''single-file, and this robber came out of ahead them and had a bandana over his face, had a gun, spoke in Spanish.
The tour guide translated and told everybody they had to put everything on the floor and then told us to turn around and run.''
Carnival Cruises will reportedly reimbursed the passengers for their losses.
All passengers returned safely to the ship, Carnival said in a statement.
The robber has yet to be apprehended, according to Mexican press reports.
Earlier this month, the U.S. State Department issued a warning about travel to Mexico due to the rising violence and killings occurring in several states.
The warning came the same week Mexican officials made a massive methamphetamine seizure in the state of Jalisco.
