Cyclist Critical After Being Stabbed by Thief in Oxnard

Saul Anchando, 26, was knifed after he pursued a man who snatched a laptop out of his hands as he rode on his bike with his brother at around 5:23 p.m, Oxnard Police Department said.

A cyclist was in critical condition after being stabbed in the chest by a thief in Oxnard Monday.

Saul Anchando, 26, was knifed after he pursued a man who snatched a laptop out of his hands as he rode on his bike with his brother at around 5:23 p.m, Oxnard Police Department said.

As Anchado was giving chase the thief turned and stabbed him in the torso on the 600 block of Teresa Street. The suspect, who is in his 30s, then made off with the computer.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Ventura County Medical Center in grave condition, and underwent emergency surgery. He was in the Intensive Care Unit in critical condition Monday night.
