Person of Interest Sought in Deadly Seal Beach Arson Fire

Seal Beach police were seeking a person of interest Wednesday in a deadly arson fire that left a man and his dog dead in a home.

Eric Jesus Andrade, a 37-year-old homeless man, was believed to be linked to the blaze that occurred on April 30.

The fire killed 67-year-old John Donnelly and his dog, and Seal Beach police said Monday that they believe the fire was deliberately set.

The deadly blaze broke out just after midnight Saturday.

A police dog found evidence of an accelerant outside the two-story duplex in the 200 block of 17th Street, prompting investigators to consider it an arson fire.

Police were looking for neighbors to provide surveillance video that might help investigators.

Anyone who spots Andrade is encouraged to call Seal Beach Police Dispatch at (562) 594-7232.

The fire caused an estimated $500,000 in structural damage and about $20,000 in damage to contents, said Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Steve Concialdi.
