An investigation is underway after the decomposed body of a man was found in a riverbed in Montebello Saturday, officials said.
The body was found on the embankment of the Rio Hondo Channel, a block south of the Whittier Boulevard bridge on the Montebello- Pico Rivera city limits, about 4:20 p.m., the Montebello Police Department said.
Police believe the body was at the location for an extended period of time. Ricardo Rojas of the Montebello Police Department said the area is frequented by transients and the homeless.
