    A deep fat fryer caught fire Friday, Aug. 1, 2014, igniting a blaze inside a food truck on Venice's Abbot Kinney Boulevard on the night of its monthly Food Truck Friday event, officials said.

    A deep-fat fryer caught fire Friday night, igniting a blaze inside a food truck on Venice's Abbot Kinney Boulevard on the night of its monthly First Friday food truck event, officials said.

    The fire was reported just after 7 p.m. near Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Andalusia Avenue in the rear of the Miami Night food truck's kitchen, according to the Venice Fire Department.

    Video from the scene showed flames ripping through the roof of the truck.

    Firefighters put out the blaze, and no injuries were reported.
