Robber Sought in Hollywood Stick-Up

On Oct. 15., the man approached a another withdrawing money from the Bank of America ATM on Melrose Avenue

Police on Monday sought the public's help to find a robber who held up a man at an ATM last month in Hollywood.

The incident happened Oct. 15 at 9:15 p.m. at a Bank of America in the 4900 block of Melrose Avenue, police said.

The man simulated a handgun, threatened to shoot the victim if he didn't give up his cash and ran away, according to a news release from the Los Angeles Police Department.

The robber is described as black, 35 years old, about 5-foot-10 inches tall and 170 to 180 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a purple Lakers hat and purple Vikings football jersey. He reportedly drove a newer model, red four-door Toyota Yaris, according to the statement.

Police ask that anyone with information to call detectives at 213-972-2955, anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS, or 1-877-LAPD-24-7 on weekends or during nonbusiness hours.
