Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez joined teammate Kenta Maeda for some Sukiyaki while in Japan during the offseason.
Gonzalez touched down in Tokyo on Wednesday but his visit to the Land of the Rising Sun isn't because he missed the team's Rookie of the Year candidate.
Gonzalez is in Japan with the Mexican national baseball team for an exhibition match against Japan in the 2016 Samurai Japan Challenge at the Tokyo Dome.

The exhibition tournament is in preparation for the 2017 World Baseball Classic and features a four-game exhibition series between three teams: Japan, Mexico and the Netherlands.
Mexico won the first game on Thursday, 7-3, over Japan and got a little help from prospect Alex Verdugo who dominated for the Double-A Dodger affiliate the Tusla Drillers this season.

Gonzalez did not play in the game on Thursday, but his visit to Tokyo is a family affair as his brother, Edgar, is the manager of the Mexican national team.
Maeda is not playing for Japan in the series, but he was on hand at the ballpark to watch his countrymen and teammates. After the game, he went to lunch with Gonzalez and the two posted the picture on Instagram.
