Dodgers Announce Their 2017 Heart and Hustle Award Winner

Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner was named the team's recipient of the annual Heart and Hustle Award for the 2017 season.

The heart of the 2017 Dodgers is also their best hitter.

Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner was named the team's recipient of the annual Heart and Hustle Award for the 2017 season.

The award is given to active players on each team who demonstrate a passion for the game of baseball and best embody the values, spirit, and traditions of the game.

The award is given by the Major League Baseball Players Alumni assocation and is the only award that is voted on solely by former players.

"Justin gives his all on the field," said Dodgers legendary pitcher Don Newcombe. "He brings joy and positivity to the clubhouse and spends his free time giving back to the community."

One player from each team is selected by the MLBPAA and the final winner is announced on November 14, 2017 at the annual Legends for Youth Dinner in New York City.

Turner leads the league in batting average with a .371 average this season and was named to his first ever All-Star Game last week after receiving a record amount of fan votes in MLB's "Final Vote" contest.
