Players only, come on!
It might not be the XFL, but for the first time ever, Major League Baseball players will have nicknames on the back of their jerseys during the inaugural Players Weekend on Aug. 25-27.
Players across all 30 teams will wear very colorful uniforms featuring never before seen designs and instead of their last names on their back, it will have a nickname of their choosing.

Among the top nicknames displayed during that weekend will be "All Rise," as chosen by Yankees slugger Aaron Judge. "Cutch" for Pittsburgh Pirates center fielder Andrew McCutcheon and our personal favorite, "Corey's Brother," as chosen by Seattle Mariners third baseman, Kyle Seager, the older brother of reigning NL Rookie of the Year Corey Seager.
Seager himself did not choose a nickname for the Players Weekend, even though he is referred to as "Seags" a lot by his teammates. Other Dodger nicknames include "Cody Love," for Cody Bellinger, "RedTurn2" for Justin Turner, and "Silver Fox," for veteran second baseman Chase Utley.

In addition to the nicknames, the players will also wear a special patch on their shoulder showing the progression of a child evolving into a Major League player. Underneath that new logo, each player is allowed to write the name of a person who either changed their life, or helped advance his career.

Furthermore, the players will also wear unique spikes, batting gloves, wristbands and compression sleeves for the games. New Era will provide specially designed baseball hats for the weekend as well as socks and original pregame workout shirts.
After the inaugural weekend, all of the game-worn jerseys and equipment will be auctioned for charity at MLB.com/auctions with 100 percent of the proceeds going to MLB-MLBPA Youth Development Foundation.
