Dodgers Welcome Rivals During 11-Game Homestand. Here's Everything You Need to Know

Everything you need to know about the Los Angeles Dodgers 11-game homestand against the Chicago Cubs, San Francisco Giants, and Colorado Rockies.

Fresh off their Freeway Series with the Anaheim Angels, the first-place Los Angeles Dodgers return home on Thursday for an 11-game homestand featuring familiar rivals in the Chicago Cubs, San Francisco Giants, and Colorado Rockies.

The Dodgers and Cubs have met in the National League Championship Series in two of the last three seasons. Both teams made the playoffs in 2018, but the Cubs were eliminated in the NL Wild Card Game against the Rockies, while the Dodgers advanced to their second consecutive Fall Classic.

The opening game of the series on Thursday, June 13, coincides with Kershaw Day, as the three-time Cy Young Award winner looks to rebound after the Dodgers lost for the first time since July of 2018 in a game he started, last Friday in San Francisco.

The first 40,000 ticketed fans in attendance will receive a Joe Kelly bobblehead, featuring the likeness of the Dodgers new reliever who has struggled mightily this season, including an implosion on Monday night in Anaheim that gift-wrapped the Angels a victory.

Rich Hill is expected to start on Friday in the second game of the series, and fans in attendance will want to stay in their seats after the game for Friday Night Fireworks presented by Denny's.

Soccer fans are in for a treat on Saturday, June 15, as Paris Saint-Germain star and World Cup winner, Kylian Mbappe, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Walker Buehler is expected to start for the Dodgers.

On Tuesday, the first 40,000 fans in attendance will receive a free Clayton Kershaw bobblehead, featuring the Dodgers' ace with his hands raised in the air after recording his first ever save against the Washington Nationals in 2016.

The finale of the four-game series with San Francisco is another giveaway game, as the first 40,000 ticketed fans in attendance will receive a Dodgers canvas beach bag courtesy of Chef Merito seasonings.

There will be no rest for the weary as the Dodgers immediately welcome the Colorado Rockies for a three-game series on Friday, June 21. The Rockies have been red-hot in recent weeks, catapulting into second place in the NL West, and are currently four games above .500. The Rox are considered to be the Dodgers biggest competition in the NL West, after both teams finished with the same record in 2018, needing a Game 163 to decide the division at Dodger Stadium last October.

The opening game of the series will celebrate Filipino Heritage Night and fans who purchase a ticket at Dodgers.com/Filipino will receive a limited edition Filipino themed Dodgers jersey. After the game, fans are encouraged to stay for Friday Night Fireworks.

On Saturday, the first 40,000 ticketed fans in attendance will receive a complimentary Kiké Hernandez t-shirt presented by San Manuel Casino. After the game, fans are encouraged to stay for Christian Faith night as they can watch a performance by Christian band Hillsong California, and hear testimonials by Dodger players. First pitch is scheduled for 4:15PM PT.

You won't want to miss the finale of the 11-game homestand on Sunday as the Dodgers will have a pregame Viva Los Dodgers party behind centerfield at the old 76 gas station featuring live music, games, giveaways and autograph sessions.

The Dodgers will honor the Girl Scouts before the game with a pregame parade on the field, and girl scouts in the Southern California area can receive a special commemorative patch by purchasing tickets online. After the game, kids are encouraged to run around the bases. See you at the ballpark.
