“Big Scaredy-Cat”: Missing Dog Rescued From IE Golf Course Ledge

One missing dog in Riverside County didn't use its newfound freedom to track down a set of tasty sausage links -- it hit the links.

Morticia, a 4-year-old Presa Cane Canario, was rescued from a ledge at a golf course in the Jurupa Valley Thursday morning, according to Riverside County Animal Services.

The big dog was missing since Tuesday, when high winds knocked over a fence at her Fontana house, animal services spokesman John Welsh said.

Morticia wandered onto a rocky outcropping at Oak Quarry Golf Club and couldn't remove herself, but staff coaxed her down, Welsh said in a statement.

An animal control officer called the 4-year-old dog "a big scaredy-cat," according to Welsh. She had a license and dog tags, so she was reunited with her family.
