A pursuit that began on freeways near downtown Los Angeles ended with an injury crash after the driver crashed onto a sidewalk at an intersection.
Two female subjects were in the vehicle at the time of the crash at 3rd Street and Figueroa Street. Aerial video showed a gray Saturn sedan on a sidewalk and firefighter-rescue personnel treating at least two people.
Details regarding the victims and injuries were not immediately available.
The pursuit began on Manchester Boulevard and continued onto the 110 Freeway south of downtown Los Angeles after officers noticed a traffic violation. The driver exited the freeway in the downtown area before slamming into a sport utility vehicle and crashing onto the sidewalk.
One person was taken into custody, according to Los Angeles police.
