Driver Found Hiding in Airport Bathroom After High-Speed Pursuit

Officers had tried to stop the man at around 12:30 a.m. for a vehicle code violation and outstanding warrants

Police found a driver hiding in an airport bathroom after a high-speed chase ended in Fullerton early Wednesday.

Officers tried to stop the man at 12:30 a.m. for a vehicle code violation and outstanding warrants, a Buena Park Police Department spokesman said.

He allegedly sped off in his dark-colored sedan, reaching speeds up to 100 mph at one point, before eventually losing control and crashing into a tree on Commonwealth Avenue and Magnolia Avenue at Fullerton Airport.

The man clambered over a fence into the general aviation airport, leaving an injured female passenger inside the car. He was eventually discovered hiding inside a bathroom inside one of the hangars, police said.

The man was treated for a minor cut to his face, and then arrested. The woman was taken to the hospital with cuts and bruises.
