Four occupants of vehicle transported to hospital in stable condition

A family was transported to a hospital after they led police on a short pursuit that ended in a crash in El Monte early Sunday morning.

Officers initiated the pursuit when the vehicle failed to stop for a possible DUI on Ramona Boulevard in Baldwin Park around 1:34 a.m., according to the Baldwin Park Police Department.

Police pursued the car westbound on Ramona Boulevard toward the city of El Monte. The driver turned on Gilman Road where it hit another car, lost control and crashed into at least two parked cars.

The pursued car flipped over and landed on its roof. Two children, aged 6 and 8, were ejected from the car when it flipped, police said.

The children, along with their father, the driver, and their mother, were transported to USC Medical Center in stable condition.

The driver may face felony evading and DUI charges, according to BPPD.

The incident is under investigation by BPPD with the assistance of El Monte and Inwindale police departments.
