EB 10 Freeway Reopens in Pomona After Big Rig Collisions

Traffic is being diverted off at Dudley Avenue

All lanes on the eastboubnd 10 Freeway at White Avenue in Pomona have reopened after a collision involving two big rigs just after 2 a.m. closed lanes Tuesday morning, according to CHP.

As of 6:05 a.m., the carpool lane as well as the number 1 and number 2 lanes had opened. The number 3 and 4 lanes opened just before 7 a.m., according to CHP.

The crash occurred after one big rig had pulled over to the right shoulder because of mechanical issues, according to Zorrilla. The two people inside the big rig exited and then noticed two headlights headed toward their truck, Zorrilla said.

The big rig collided with the rear of the other big rig and then crossed all eastbound lanes of the 10 freeway, Zorrilla said.

The driver has been transported to a USC medical center with major injuries, according to CHP officials.

Officers are currently investigating the cause of the crash.

Another minor crash involving a big rig was reported on the eastbound 10 Freeway just after 3 a.m. near Dudley Avenue in Pomona.
