Magnitude-3.4 Earthquake Shakes Inland Empire

A preliminary magnitude-3.4 earthquake was reported two miles from Loma Linda early Monday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. 

The USGS reports that the epicenter was four miles from Redlands and five miles from Moreno Valley. Weak to light shaking was reported in Loma Linda, San Bernardino, Hemet, Murrieta, Riverside and other nearby communities.

Residents described the earthquake as a "sharp jolt" that woke them up just before 1 a.m. There were no reports of injuries or damage.
