3.1-Magnitude Earthquake Rattles Pacoima Area

A 3.1-magnitude earthquake shook the Pacoima area Wednesday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The temblor hit at 8:59 p.m. about 4 miles northwest of Pacoima at a depth of a little more than 5 miles, the USGS reported.

The quake was initially reported as a magnitude 3.2, but the USGS downgraded that preliminary figure to 3.1.

Fans of the NBCLA page on Facebook reported feeling the quake in Van Nuys, Northridge, Tijunga, Sherman Oaks and Hollywood.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or damages.
