Earthquake Rumbles in Malibu, Thousand Oaks

Several callers told the sheriff's station they heard what sounded like sonic booms

There was a 3.3 earthquake near Malibu Monday night that was also felt in Thousand Oaks.

A dispatcher at Los Angeles County Sheriff's station said they received "several calls" from people in the Malibu area claiming their heard two sonic booms. Others called and told dispatchers they felt the earthquake at 11:26 p.m.

Police and firefighters in Thousand Oaks said there were no reports of damage. One person called the NBC LA newsroom.

Specifically the temblor was located at Latitude 33.998N and Longitude 118.810W about three miles southwest of Malibu.
