El Komander Concert Flap Leads to Chaos

When the popular music star refused to take the stage over a payment dispute, fans angrily began tearing apart the venue.

Chaos erupted at a Riverside County concert after popular Mexican musician El Komander refused to sing because of a payment dispute this weekend.

The promoter and singer are blaming each other for the situation, and fans are just angry that the show didn’t go on.

In Instagram video from the Lake Perris Fairgrounds, you can see and hear angry music fans tearing up the concert stage, where El Komander was supposed to perform Sunday night for 1,200 fans.

The singer even posted a video, telling his fans he was heading to Perris after performing at a concert in Los Angeles.

"He posted on his Instagram saying he was going to be there so I told couple friends of mine ‘Lets go check it out,’" said fan Raul Ramirez.

After paying $100 for a special VIP table, Ramirez said he watched as El Komander drove up, and then sat inside a truck.

"I was like ‘What is he doing? Is he not going to perform? What's going on. We paid our money,’" Ramirez said.

According to fans, El Komander stayed inside the truck, looking at his smartphone for three hours, refusing to get out.

"I was hoping to take a picture with him,” said fan Diana Lopez. “My kids wanted me to take a picture with him because they wanted to be in the event but I just couldn't take them with me."

According to the concert promoter, AV Entertainment, El Komander was supposed to be paid $50,000, but when he got there, he allegedly refused to go on stage unless he got another $30,000.

When negotiations failed, El Komander left.

"He could have just got in and out, sang a couple of songs, to please the clientele," Lopez said.

Some fans got so upset that they began tearing apart the stage.

Luckily no one got seriously injured, although El Komander’s fan base certainly took a hit.

"Especially for what he did. I don't think a lot of people are going to follow him anymore."

El Komander released a statement basically apologizing to his fans, and blaming the issue on the promoter.

In the meantime, refunds are being offered to fans.
