Grandson Questioned in Slaying of Elderly Couple

Officers made the discovery after receiving a call from a concerned family member

Police were questioning the 34-year-old grandson of an elderly couple whose bodies were found  inside a Glendale home Sunday.

The grandson was named a person of interest in the killings, said Sgt. Robert William of the Glendale Police Department.

Officers received a call at 9:30 a.m. from a concerned family member who requested a welfare check. When officers arrived at the home in the 600 block of Alexander Street they found a door open and the man and woman dead inside, William said.

The deaths were investigated as a double homicide - the bodies were there for more than a day, police said. The victims' names were not released.

Money was found in plain sight inside the house and police said they did not believe that a home invasion had occurred. All of the vehicles at the home were accounted for.

Neighbors said that a married couple had lived in the house for decades but hadn’t been seen for three or four days.

The coroner arrived to the home Sunday night to determined how they were killed.
