Former FBI Fugitive Charged With Quadruple Murder Due in Court

A former FBI fugitive and suspected gang member is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday on capital murder charges for allegedly killing four people in in a shootout in South Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office.

Marlon Jones, 41, has been charged with four counts of murder along with a special circumstance allegation of multiple murders for a wild gun battle that erupted in a home Oct. 15 after he shot and killed a rival Jamaican gang member, according to the FBI and the District Attorney's office.

Three others were killed and 10 were wounded in the ensuing gun fight in the house that was being used as a restaurant.

Dozens of people were at the party and witnesses said they heard gunshot blasts and then saw several bloody victims sitting or lying on the ground outside the house.

Jones was added to the FBI's list of Ten Most Wanted Fugitives Thursday, before he was captured and arrested Friday.

"If convicted as charged, Jones faces the death penalty or life in state prison without the possibility of parole," noted the District Attorney's Office. "The decision whether to seek capital punishment will be made at a later date."

Los Angeles Police Department's South Bureau Homicide division is investigating his case.
