‘Seasoned Bandit' Wanted in 9 Bank Robberies Since April: FBI

The banks are located in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara counties.

The FBI Friday sought public help to find the so-called Seasoned Bandit, wanted for robbing nine banks in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara counties since April.

The man is in his 50s or 60s, and was assigned the moniker in part because of his gray/white hair, said Laura Eimiller of the FBI.

He generally wears casual clothing, a hat and sunglasses, and he passes a note to tellers in which he demands cash and threatens to use a gun if the victim does not comply with his demands, Eimiller said.

He is linked to robberies of two Wells Fargo banks in Newhall, a Logix Federal Credit Union in Valencia, a California Credit Union in Valencia, a Wescom Credit Union in Stevenson Ranch, and four financial institutions in Santa Barbara County.

Anyone with information on the identity or whereabouts of the suspect was urged to contact their local law enforcement agencies. In Los Angeles, the FBI may be reached 24 hours a day at (310) 477-6565.
