Fall in Love with a ‘Solo Artist' at Best Friends

The rescue group will waive fees for a week for people looking to adopt one-and-only dogs.

What to Know

  • Best Friends Animal Society
  • Mission Hills and West LA locations (select dogs available for adoption in West LA)
  • June 19-25

The conversation topics that parents to multiple dogs return to, time and again, can be as predictable as the exact times of day a pup whines to go out.

You can count on a hound-obsessed human to talk about how well their pooches share toys, if their li'l guys sleep side-by-side at night and who is the leader of the pack.

But sometimes, it isn't about multiple dogs for a person, or a few dogs and cats, or the politics of several animals making a home together.

For there are those amazing canines that like being the star, their person's sole sweetheart, which means you'll never need to sort out the often complicated relationships of several woofers under your roof.

If you've thought about being a one-and-only household, pet-wise, Best Friends Animal Society has a plan worth singing about.

The rescue group is holding a week-long "Solo Artists" adoption promotion, from June 19-25, 2019, and, to help humans connect with that singular pup, the adoption fee will be waived.

Some of the solo sweeties sure to win hearts?

You may meet Lady Paw Paw — she's sporting the purple wig in the photo above — and fall for a girl who "secretly craves a quiet life where she can just hang out and cuddle with her favorite people, preferably on the couch."

Several other potential adoptees are also sporting cute names that pay homage to solo artists of the human kind: Tim McPaw and MaDogga are also in the adorable mix.

Where to go for your centerstage sweetie, the pup that will be the Dog of the House when he or she returns home with you?

Tails'll be wagging at the Best Friends Lifesaving Center in Mission Hills, as well as the NKLA Pet Adoption Center in West LA, where select dogs will be available for adoption under this plan.
