Two Killed in Fiery Crash on 10 Freeway

All lanes were closed on the westbound 10 Freeway in West Covina after a collision killed two people early Friday morning, authorities said.

The crash was reported around 1:10 a.m. near the Citrus Street exit on the 10 Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Two people were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the CHP. Authorities initially said three people were killed.

Authorities said the crash involved a pick-up truck, SUV, and big rig and two cars.

Some of the vehicles burned after the gas tank exploded upon impact of the crash, police said.

CHP already determined that speed was a factor in the crash.

All lanes were reopened around 5:15 a.m., according to the CHP.
