Fatal Shooting at Carson Plaza Shopping Center

A man was shot and killed Tuesday night while seated in a car in the parking lot of the Carson Plaza shopping center.
Los Angeles County Fire Department firefighters and sheriff's deputies were called to the 600 block of East University Drive about 8 p.m., authorities said.
The man was declared dead at the scene, said Deputy Rich Pena of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau.
According to a cameraman at the scene, another person in the car got out and ran as the suspect fled. He was not injured.
Sheriff's homicide investigators were sent to the scene to investigate the circumstances of the shooting.
